West-coast rockers DICE show no sign of slowing down and release yet another polished indie-rock gem ‘Stockholm’, the final taste of their imminent EP ‘Time Will Tell’, out May 4th.
Proven in spades, with accolades to back, they’re quickly proving themselves as one of Australia’s premier indie-rock outfits.
DICE’s dizzying trajectory currently stands at over 18 million streams across DSP and 1.35 million streams in just the last month alone. In January they scored #133 in the triple j Hottest 200 for previous single ‘Double Espresso’. They’re quickly, and undeniably, establishing themselves as household favourites of Australians nationwide.
Their latest single ‘Stockholm’ is a DICE track through and through – buttery vocals, punchy, energetic instrumentation all wrapped in a sun-soaked summer sound as they explore darker themes of group dynamics.
“Our latest single, ‘Stockholm’ is a Gen-Z take on the concept of Stockholm Syndrome. The tracks lyrics delve into the intrusive thoughts that arise when you feel trapped within a group of people whose morals and values don’t align with yours and you feel unable to escape the situation yet are forced to be around them.
The process of making this track felt a lot more thought out and perfected than our previous songs. The foundation for the track was made 6 months ago while touring however we continued to work and refine the song to really hone in on the cohesiveness of all the parts. Taking more influence from Brit-Pop we are finding our sound is maturing with each release all while learning that sometimes overthinking parts of a song can hinder our momentum.” DICE
Since their inception in 2021, DICE have proven consistency and quality with each and every release. Signed in 2022 to Tone City Records (Nectar, Siobhan Cotchin, Supathick), DICE made official their long history of collaboration with Sam Ford. Like previous releases, the single was mixed and mastered by Sam Ford at Tone City Studios.
Known for delivering a killer live-show with electrifying energy, they will be touring through NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, TAS and WA through May-June in support of their forthcoming EP ‘Time Will Tell’.
