Lazy Ghost have grown into one of Australia’s beloved bands. Known for their good times, killer live shows and summer-drenched tunes they’ve become a fast favourite across the country and beyond.
Recounting a lust-fuelled evening of a summer fling, the four-piece Canadian-Australian ensemble show their strength in new single ‘Summer is Here’. Defined by soaring vocals, surf-rock guitars and a spotlight on strong instrumentation, this latest song is a culmination of the band’s last year spent elevating their presence as a live act and absorbing new creative influences.
“With our new song Summer Is here, we captured the simplicity of each instrument and moulded them together with inspiration from original surf rock sounds from the 60’s. We put our own spin on the original sound with soaring vocals and harmonies in the chorus.” Lazy Ghost
Fusing inspiration from the likes of Skeggs, Ocean Alley FIDLAR and alt-J, Lazy Ghost offer their own refined sound to the Aussie indie-rock genre. Simple in structure but strong on good vibes, ‘Summer is Here’ is the perfect song to soundtrack the warmer months ahead. The laid-back Lazy Ghost, based on the cruisy coast of Byron Bay they tap into the carefree life of surfing, cold beers, great friends and even better times.
‘Summer is Here’ was recorded at Rocking Horse Studios in the lush Byron Hinterland, the self-produced single was then mixed by Nicolas Wilson (Grinspoon, Wolfmother, John Paul Jones) rounding out the team was mastering by Paul Blakey from 12th & Vine Post (APRA Pop Work of the Year, APRA Blues & Roots Work of the Year, Dolphin Award for best production/engineering).

Their vibrant art and loveable summer sound became fast favourites as people connected with the easy-going nature of the songs and the quality of the sound.
After a year of recuperation and concentration they spent 2022 gearing up to their previous trajectory, recording and releasing ‘Told Ya So’, they then took their new live show across both Australia and New Zealand supported by DICE, Rum Jungle and a string of local supports.
