Life can be a mess sometimes. Throw in a new baby, a fresh sporting pursuit & the inability to get a moment to yourself and Darwin comedian Amy Hetherington has incredibly found the time to build her brand new comedy show around just that.
Combining all the whims of parenting, sport, work, friends, nipple tassels and mummy Facebook groups, ‘JUGGLE’ is an authentic, but not-too-serious look at feeling sexy after childbirth; and surviving life with a toddler – juggling not included.
Taking ‘JUGGLE’ across Australia with tour dates in Darwin, Perth, Kalamunda, Alice Spring, Adelaide & Katherine, Amy Hetherington is not content with touring just a single comedy series; returning with her Adelaide Fringe Festival Award Winning & multi-Sold Out performances extravaganza ‘Crying Over Spilt Milk’.
These encore shows will bring the critically acclaimed show to new audiences across, Perth, Albany, Adelaide & Sydney, allowing some their first taste of the unbridled realness & hilarity that is Amy Hetherington.
“Juggle has been a mission to create! It’s a show about finding your identity after having a baby and, now my baby is a toddler, it’s very hard to find time to write material. Everytime I start a joke she interrupts me, ‘cos one thing I’ve learnt is that a baby can achieve a lot in an unsupervised minute.
After having my baby I lost my mojo and was sent an article with 5 things to try to ‘spark that fire’ in your life after baby… I tried all those things and it just resulted in a heap of chaos. When we say parents are ‘juggling’ things well it’s not really a compliment… you’re throwing things above your head and never really in control… plus people frown at me when I throw the baby.”

I am so excited to bring Crying Over Spilt Milk back to Adelaide and Perth for encore shows. I’m also adding a few cities that missed out on this show in 2022. I’m so proud of this show, it’s vulnerable and messy and honest and silly. It’s about that first year of baby life. About the weird advice strangers give you. About sleep deprivation. Sore nipples. And about laughing instead of crying over the milk we spill.
These shows are all baby friendly too. And that’s something I’m so proud to offer people. I pick an early time and give parents a chance to bring their baby to an ‘adult show’ without fear of judgment. Babies can be wild and silly and we roll with the chaos. My baby also joins me on stage… so it’s a wild time. The show does have swearing and adult themes so it’s for babies without language skills.

With ‘JUGGLE’ her follow-up show to the unarguably successful ‘Crying Over Spilt Milk’, the chance for Amy to continue the story she began is one that she relishes. Whilst ‘Crying Over Spilt Milk’ is vulnerable, messy, weird & fueled by sleep deprivation, ‘JUGGLE’ is a chaotic and earnest look at trying to balance life when it feels like you’re never really in control. Re-finding your mojo after a baby & working to find time for yourself amongst all of the insanity.
“Juggle is a follow up to Crying Over Spilt Milk which won an Adelaide Fringe Weekly Comedy Award and has been so popular across Aus… there’s pressure on that second mumma comedy show, but I think I’ve got it. I love comedy. It feels like an absolute privilege to have people sit and listen to my stories and it’s one of the most exciting things to make people laugh. I love how every show is different and audiences react to different things depending on the delivery or the vibe or their senses of humor.”
Amy Hetherington engages her audience with a joyful combination of positivity, wit and charm. Having performed SOLD OUT shows at the Darwin Festival, Perth FRINGE WORLD, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Adelaide Fringe, she has also supported comedy legends including Dave Hughes, Glenn Robbins, Fiona O’Loughlin, Jimeon, Akmal, Dave O’Neil, Greg Fleet and Steve-O (MTV Jackass). A finalist in the 2015 Melbourne International Comedy Festival RAW Comedy Competition and was a winner of a 2019 and 2022 Adelaide Fringe Weekly Comedy Award, the enthusiastic Territorian has developed a reputation for high-energy performances, professional MCing and hilarious comedy.
Amy observes the world through a positive but bizarre lens and shares unexpected observations with the audience with honesty and a witty sense of self.
