ELAURA further delights with collection of ‘Shadow Talk’ Remixes

Having already swept away listeners with her sultry neo-soul, alt-R&B track ‘Shadow Talk’. ELAURA further delights listeners with a collection of Remixes, providing a new means to appreciate the hypnotic soulful sounds of the Melbourne artist.

Featuring remixes from the likes of Chelsea Warner, an established key player in Australia’s expanding alt-R&B scene. IJALE, who blends Afrocentric sounds reflecting his Nigerian heritage and Australian upbringing.  And Younique, a psychedelic funk artist sharing messages of love and one-ness.

This collaboration for ELAURA is indicative of her commitment to the strength and importance of community. Whether it’s musical collaborations like these remixes or learning from the strong network of women in her life, ELAURA says

“If there’s one thing that Music has taught me it’s that it’s less about me and more about my community and sharing spaces where we can connect through our humanness, through our  stories and through our culture.” ELAURA

IJALE’s remix for ‘Shadow Talk’ features his signature blend of Afrocentric sounds and Western influences that reflect his Nigerian heritage and his Australian upbringing. Featuring hints of African percussion, infectious bass-lines and layered electronic textures, the sounds in this track pay direct homage to the hallmark genres of black creativity including Jazz, Soul, RnB and Hip Hop. This remix of Shadow Talk is a grooving, jazzy percussive listen, perfectly complementing the strength of ELAURA’s original.

Younique, Melbourne based artist/producer cites impressive influences, like being in the studio with Young FrancoPolographia, and Brian Fresco. Marked by psychedelic funk, his music is centred around his core message and mentality: Love is everywhere & everything. In this remix, Younique, pitch-shifts ELAURA’s vocals more dramatically than the two previous remixes. With a grooving beat reminiscent of Cosmo’s Midnight, you can’t help but dance.

Chelsea Warner’s remix slows down the honey tones of ELAURA for a stripped-back version of the already vibing R&B ‘Shadow Talk’. Swaying, undulating swells of synths flourish around ELAURA’s hypnotic tones. The sultry, slick lofi production of Chelsea Warner pairs beautifully with the tenderness of ELAURA’s vocal performance – making for a delicious and memorable listen.
