It does not take much to become enamored with the sounds Perth’s Supathick revel in.
A vibrant and endlessly clever fusion of funk, pop and club-ready production has made the group ones to watch over the last two years; making a killer return in 2021, Supathick have re-emerged with new music that strikes hot.
This month sees the release of the band’s next single for the year, the vivid ‘Baby, I Feel Love’. Featuring Matt Sevier on guest vocals, the latest from Supathick sees the group continue to follow the new inspirations and sonic threads listeners were introduced to with previous single ‘Time’, earlier this year.
As another peek at the new chapter Supathick are currently vibing within, ‘Baby, I Feel Love’ is a catchy slice of funk, ready to bring audiences out of the winter and back into warmth.
Recorded at Tone City in Perth in 2020, ‘Baby, I Feel Love’ is another winning result from Supathick’s work with producer Sam Ford (Abbe May, POND). With the addition of Sevier’s rich R&B vocals, the single went up another level when it came to the final cut.
“We wrote this song with Matt a couple years ago and honestly, I feel like I’ve had it stuck in my head since 2019. It’s nice to get some uptempo funk back into the world. We recorded the track late last year with Sam Ford (POND, Abbe May) and Matt levelled it up with his gritty vocals. We think it’s a fresh change up from our usual Supathick vocal style.”

Having accumulated over 100,000 streams across platforms this year alone, as well as being able to build upon an already impressive live presence out on the West Coast, a band like Supathick has been hard to deny when it comes to staying power.
Releasing their debut EP Dinner And A Film back in August 2020, the band hasn’t let a global pandemic slow their ambition and determination to use their music to provide a light in the dark; showing music fans that in effortless grooves, undeniable hooks and songwriting that combines a love for a range of genres with contemporary edge, the best type of escapism exists.
