The Young Vincent EP is here.
In a similar vein to artists like The War On Drugs and The Paper Kites, Young Vincent’s alternative folk sound has taken a more refined edge. As the band explores more indie, guitar-based territory, ‘Big News’ is a perfect example of the band’s songwriting dynamic at its best.
Rich harmonies meet clever instrumentation. As the song twists and turns, it remains rhythmically strong.
Part of Melbourne’s indie/folk set since 2014, Young Vincent have fast become part of the vibrant fabric that is Melbourne’s independent music scene. At the helm of sold out shows in Melbourne, Young Vincent have upped their own game with their debut. A long awaited record, this Young Vincent EP is a snapshot of a band operating at their dynamic best.
Recorded at Melbourne’s Newmarket Studios under the eyes of Callum Barter (Courtney Barnett) and Adam Dempsey (CW Stoneking), Young Vincent brought together the last few years of experiences on road and in writing sessions. The end result being an EP defined by its charm, vulnerability and songwriting nuance.
“This EP has been a long time coming for us. It’s a collection of our proudest and most diversely creative songwriting. From the beginning, we had a goal to change people’s expectations and to uncover a sound that is true to us. We couldn’t be happier with how it has come together and we are so excited to share these five songs.”
