SXSW Sydney landed with big impact earlier this month – our team was on ground with a bunch of our talented artists including South Summit, Foley (NZ), Hotel Mira (Canada), Dulcie, Jet City Sports Club and Yawdoesitall.
Additionally, we were so excited to work with the extremely talented team behind the Aotearoa House, running PR for the slew of artists from New Zealand who made the trip to showcase in Sydney.
Adam and Dan, our bees on ground, reflect on their experience at SXSW Sydney, below.
“SXSW this year was such a great time! Dan and I arrived on the Wednesday and settled into our accommodation before heading into the festival – we did get very lost initially (the festival was all over the place!), but once we found our bearings we had a great night watching bands.
Over our time at the festival we caught shows from all our amazing beehive bands who were showcasing, including Hotel Mira, Foley, Dulcie, Jet City Sports Club and South Summit. We met lots of great people from the industry, its always good to put a face to the name of alot of the people we’ve been working with!
We also had the chance to head into the triple j offices while South Summit had an interview with Abby and Tyrone – bit of a bucket list moment seeing where it all goes down!
Overall it was a great experience, and hopefully one of many SXSW’s in Australia to come.”

“What a wonderful time SXSW Sydney was! After all of the build up & questions, it was an event that really got me excited about the future of Australian & NZ music. We had some wonderful beehive artists showcasing, such as South Summit, Hotel Mira, Foley, Dulcie, The Tullamarines & more.
To be able to be around so many wonderful like minded individuals again was a treat & I cannot wait to see what the next edition of SXSW Sydney brings.”
