A new day dawns for CARAVÃNA SUN, with the release of new single ‘Moments’; a striking hit of indie-electro-pop that positions the Australian favorites on the precipice of their most exciting new phase to date.
As their first release for 2023, ‘Moments’ demonstrates a period of revitalisation that CARAVÃNA SUN have embraced, as a result of experimenting with their sound and diving deep into some areas of their artistry as-yet untapped.
The result here, is a moody, insatiable electronic-driven piece of music that will have longtime CARAVÃNA SUN fans perk up and newcomers be left with the most perfect of gateways to discover the group’s wider body of work.
The song itself was born during sessions CARAVÃNA SUN laid down while on tour in Germany in 2022. Written in just 15 minutes, ‘Moments’ captures the chaos of the idea of losing control, and giving into the sensation and rush of the moment at hand.
For this release, the band recorded ‘Moments’ in Sydney, at The Mattress Factory in Bankstown; working with producer Joel Quartermaine (Meg Mac, Dan Sultan, Eskimo Joe) & mixed by Peter Holz (Gang of Youths, Vance Joy).
“This sound has been quite a departure for us. We’ve always loved electronic music and have been experimenting on stages across Germany and the UK with this darker sound that would match our live energy.
‘Moments’ is about losing control. Losing our sense of self to the moment. Whether It’s an invitation to go nudie swimming or a last minute flight to Barbados, it’s about breaking down the mold of who we think we are. Surprising ourselves with an audacity for life. A reckless undoing.”

Along with the release of the single today, CARAVÃNA SUN also delivered an official music video for ‘Moments’, directed by Joel Bryant and Ant Enoch. Filmed at The Good Egg Photo Studio in Riverstone NSW, the ‘Moments’ music video leans into the vintage camcorder vibe, while dripping the set out in dreamlike, washed out color.
“We wanted the video to capture the band’s energy in a very raw format. We had a JVC dad cam and set up a bunch of fluorescent lights in a huge white space. We then ran the entire edit through an old Television we had sitting at our parents place.”

Signed with Berlin’s Embassy of Music and joined a heavyweight roster including Björk, Moby, and fellow Aussie acts Ball Park Music. CARAVÃNA SUN have toured Europe, playing over 300 shows in UK & Europe, with overseas highlights include: Boardmasters (UK), Madness (NL), Summer In The City (Germany), Boomtown (UK) & Reggae Sun Ska (France).
The band have also toured with iconic artists Madness, UB40, The Cat Empire & Fat Freddys Drop. CARAVÃNA SUN have also had their hypnotic tune ‘Whale Song’ featured in the global award-winning documentary, ‘Seaspiracy’, leading to ‘Whale Song’ hitting 1 million+ streams & hitting the trending charts in the UK and Germany.
