Live Nation’s ONES TO WATCH hits Sydney this June!

Following on from a hugely successful event in Naarm/Melbourne Live Nation is bringing its game-changing invite only live music discovery series, ONES TO WATCH, back to New South Wales for a winter edition on Gadigal land at the Oxford Art Factory, Thursday 22nd June.

Showcasing some of the best emerging talent Australia has to offer, ONES TO WATCH is a dynamic industry forecast of the artists currently on the precipice of achieving international success. With the support of Live Nation, these artists are able to not just perform for a room of industry buyers, but make impactful career connections.

The latest instalment of the hugely successful series will see talented performers Lola Scott (Sydney), Bella Amor (Gold Coast) and Sam McGovern (Perth) hit the stage, primed to impress with a collectively diverse set of sonic styles and influences.

Lola Scott has been crafting a space for herself within the Australian pop landscape since 2018, breaking through with her striking debut EP, ¼ Life Crisis; further cementing her status as an artist with longevity and impact on 2022’s Breakfast For Dinner EP.

A sharp blend of dream-pop, ‘90s grunge and a wickedly fresh take on chaotic pop, the record arrived as a breath of fresh air and an exciting indicator of where Scott was set to go next.

Hailing from the Gold Coast, Bella Amor’s vocals and songwriting style have been intriguing and exciting industry and fans alike since her track ‘Beauty’ began turning heads in 2020. Inspired by the soulful and rich tones permeating music by the likes of Matt Corby and YEBBA, Bella Amor brings this depth together with her sharp and witty perspective of young adulthood.

Singles released in recent years, such as 2022’s ‘can’t get laid’‘all my friends are high’ and 2023’s ‘sentimental’ reflect Bella’s artistic talent; music anchored by emotional explorations and honest observations on life.

22 year old Sam McGovern is one of the latest artists to come out of Western Australia who have been putting on for the West Coast; producing some gorgeous moments of music since his introduction in 2021. A WAM (Western Australian Music) Song Of The Year nominee for debut track ‘Grow’, McGovern achieved viral notoriety with the release of his single ‘Memory’ – a song that has amassed over 20 million views across social media platforms, propelling him further onto radars right around the country.

“This has been a long time coming for us, as it will be our first time coming to central Sydney. It is a destination with such a vibrant music scene with so many of the industry’s biggest exports coming from the great city. We look forward to showcasing three of the best up and coming artists in the country as part of Ones To Watch.” PAUL LYNCH, LIVE NATION AUSTRALIA

The next ONES TO WATCH event marks another stride forward for Live Nation, who are continuing to demonstrate their ongoing support to the live music and touring sector; not just with the ONES TO WATCH platform giving artists the opportunity to showcase for high profile industry professionals from Australia and abroad.

Along with the opportunity to showcase on such a respected platform, the artists participating in Live Nation’s ONES TO WATCH event will now each receive a $10,000 contribution towards Live Nation curated touring activity for each artists – including but not limited to showcases, club shows; a commitment by Live Nation to continue their support of emerging artists outside of their official event series.

The funds, granted to help support touring aims, will help these artists take crucial next steps, spreading and solidifying their presence on stages in Australia and, in time, internationally.

“The touring landscape for new and emerging artists can be challenging, and Live Nation Australia is continually looking for tangible ways to support artist development and make life easier for acts to get on the road. This small gesture is just another way to help these hugely talented artists make their way onto stages around the country, and beyond.”

Since its establishment in North America, the ONES TO WATCH series has been able to support and promote artists such as Dua LipaOlivia Rodrigo and Halsey early in their careers. Their finger on the pulse in Australia has seen some incredible artists including Forest Claudette, Teenage Joans, Carla Wehbe, ZPLUTO, WIIGZ, Hoodzy, East AV3, Colourblind and Saint Lane perform at events around the country.

Most recently, ONES TO WATCH coincided with the opening of the new Live Nation regional HQ in Collingwood; with 265 people in attendance to see PANIA, Mitch Santiago and BOY SODA all perform.
