From the beginning of beehive, a crucial part of our ethos has always been in making sure clients are represented to the best of our ability.

Their talents are talents we have identified as being special, to the point where we want to share them with as many people as possible and since beehive has grown as a publicity agency, so has our scope.

Keeping active equates to keeping healthy: a healthy body and a healthy mind equals happiness. At beehive, we are so stoked to have embarked on a journey into sport pr in recent years. A field where our love for sport and rising to the challenge of manoeuvring an always-changing media landscape, could meet.

Our first venture into the world of extreme sports was based in the water: surfing.

our first wave: barton lynch

Working closely with world champion Australian surfer, and now influential mentor and industry leader Barton Lynch, beehive’s first forays into the sport world have led us to represent an icon like Barton, as he evolved his annual BL Blast Off surfing competition for young surfers from all over the world into the global beast it is today.

Encouraging new generations of surfers to stoke their love for the sport and water through this competition has given Barton new trails to blaze. beehive has been so proud to spread the optimism and positivity around Australia!

queens of the water: the fierro sisters

And while we’re at it, watching the growth of a new wave of surf champions from a publicity perspective has given us some pure pinch-me moments in recent years.

Further introducing champion Tahitian surfer Vahine Fierro to more Australian fans and international surf media has led us to discover more about surfing’s history and evolution; as well as becoming close with one of the sport’s brightest and most exciting talents.

Working across campaigns with Vahine and more recently, her sisters Hemiti and Kohai, has been a pure joy. This year, the Fierro Sisters launched their official YouTube channel, a platform that has continued to pull the curtain back on their lives lived in Tahiti and in the water.

For surf fans, it has been an opportunity to follow Vahine as her profile ascends, while also following the burgeoning careers of her younger sisters as they follow in Vahine’s pioneering footsteps.

From the water to the racetrack, 2022 saw beehive connect with the professional race car driving world; linking up with noted Australian Porsche Carerra Cup driver, Luke King.

A figure who already had solid momentum behind him as a career race car driver by the time we met him, Kingy has since been blowing us away with his ferocious and sharp talents behind the wheel.

With over 180 career wins to his name, as well as a professional cache that became bolstered in 2023 with his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup, this is a career that has been heating up. And it’s been thrilling to be part of telling this unique Australian success story through numerous publicity campaigns and strategy.

bringing it all together

Regardless of the type of sport or athlete, beehive is dedicated to ensuring each and every publicity campaign is delivered with authenticity and vibrancy – whether it’s a surf or racing publicity campaign; a music publicity campaign; or a comedy publicity campaign.

It’s this attitude that has meant our venture into sport PR has been one that we’ve taken to so enthusiastically. The clients don’t need to share specific common ground, yet what brings them together is a key love for their work. Just as we require the musicians and artists we work with to be passionate about their art, the sportspeople beehive works with in sports pr believe wholeheartedly in their sport.

It just becomes our job to help continue building upon the strong foundations they’ve laid!
