Alannah Chapman shares title track from forthcoming debut EP HEATED

Perth’s Alannah Chapman has entered a bright new chapter of artistry, announcing the release of her anticipated debut EP project, HEATED.

The record, capturing stunning sounds that further establish Chapman as a new leader in the West Coast alternative R&B and neo-soul infused scene, is a beautiful blend of influences – delivered through a fresh lens.

From the record, Chapman today shares the EP’s title track and lead single, ‘Heated’, a prime example of the EP’s broader sounds and, for those who turned their heads upon the release of her track ‘Keep It Classy’ in 2022 and more recently, ‘Button-Up Shirts’, it is a fitting follow up release.

Produced, mixed and mastered by Calvin Bennett (Farraday’s Cage, Ezereve) in Perth, ‘Heated’ sees Chapman flesh out the rich sounds that have formed the foundation of her musicality in recent years.

Having proven herself as a strong songwriter, with the ability to hypnotize with her butter-like vocal and sharp instrumentation, ‘Heated’ is a moment for Chapman to elevate and flex her refreshed sonic palette and influence moodboard.

“‘Heated’ is about a particularly ‘spicy’ time in my life where there were a lot of blurred lines around some of my friendships. This song is about trying to navigate this knowing that sometimes it is ok when things get a little bit blurry and messy, but also that you can’t go back once you cross a line.”

The release of ‘Button-Up Shirts’ provided an avenue for the listener to get to know Chapman better, as she detailed her re-entry to the dating scene.

And like the previous single, ‘Heated’ speaks to the artist’s natural brand of storytelling and relatability. We hear it presented further across the HEATED EP, making it a true moment of artistic introduction and arrival for Chapman as she progresses through 2023.
