Little Guilt welcomes 2023 with their latest single, ‘Dancing While Behind’. Gently wrapped in tender lyrics and charming melodies, the loveable song sways between indie-dream-pop and soft-rock.
Driven by a core of heartfelt lyrics that are both personal and universal, Little Guilt distils the common experience of the patience of modern dating and waiting for the right one for you.
“This single “Dancing While Behind” is probably our favourite LG song to date. We feel that we’ve learnt a lot about our sound and especially after the release of our EP last September. This song is a step up for LG and we felt it was easier to focus more on the production and experimental side of it. The style/genre is indie pop and it’s about the mind game of being patient and waiting for that right person to pop up into your life.”
Little Guilt
Like previous releases ‘Dancing While Behind’ is sonically grounded by a thrumming guitar and caressing vocals. Just like early morning light through gossamer curtains on a Sunday, Little Guilt’s tenderness is easy to love.
Recorded at Soak Sounds in North Dandalup, the track was mixed by up-and-coming producer Dylan Keirnan and mastered by Ryan Morey (Arcade Fire, Half Moon Run).
Fans of Middle Kids, Ball Park Music and Stella Donnelly, will also find a new favourite in Perth-based Little Guilt who offer their own refined take into the indie-dream-pop and gentle rock arena.
‘Dancing While Behind’ is the first release from the 5-piece after the release of their debut EP ‘I Do Everything Around The House’ at the end of 2022.
This release saw the band soar to new heights with mass support from both community radio Double J, FBi, JOY, PBS, RTR, triple j Unearthed, 2SER, and 4ZZZ to name a few and editorial tastemakers such as Music Feeds, Milky, Pilerats, Tonedeaf, AAA Backstage, AU Review, Amnplify and more.
Supporting the release of ‘Dancing While Behind’, fans can join the Little Guilt family at Mojos Bar in Fremantle on February 24th. Supported by Coco Elise, Allison Parade and Stem Steller, the night promises to bring Little Guilts’ unmissable live show to fans both old and new.
“Our launch is on the 24th of Feb at Mojos in Freo! We are being supported by Stem Steller who have recently formed and debuted. Some of the members are family, including our producer dylan. Albany boys Allison Parade and our main support Coco Elise will also be joining the lineup on night who are all such great artists!”
