Perth 3 piece surf rock band Pretty Uglys serve up the good times again in their latest single ‘Roll On’. Led by a surf inspired electric guitar meets a punk rhythm, the track is a celebration of being free again to enjoy carefree nights out with mates.
The first half of 2022 has seen them join forces with SKEGSS as main support for their WA tour as well as festival slots (West End and In The Pines) and headline shows. This new single further establishes the band’s unique and creative prowess as ones to watch.
To coincide with the release of ‘Roll On’, the guys will be playing in Sydney for the first time at The Chippo Hotel on October 7.
“‘Roll On’ is the soundtrack to say goodbye to winter, inspired by timeless nights, cold beers and those mates that always keep the vibes high… despite any lack of sleep.” Pretty Uglys
Once again working with WA based engineer and producer, Tristan Sturmer (Deadspace, Star Arcana) who produced and mixed their previous singles, the trio recorded the track at Sumo Studios (Perth, WA). The track came together with mastering by Grammy Award winning engineer William Bowden (Living End).
“The song began with the idea of the intro guitar, we then built it up piece by piece and arranged it until we were happy with the vibe. Lyrics often seem to come last for us, as did they with this one.” Pretty Uglys
Pretty Uglys continue to rack up a massive fan base that has already given them over 700K streams across Spotify, Apple Music & Youtube with multiple spins across Triple j, RTR, Rage, MTV, 2SER, Rebel FM, 4ZZZ and Radio Adelaide. They have secured playlisting support across Spotify on Local Noise, NMF, and Fresh Finds.
The trio have shared the stage with some of Australia’s favourite artists such as Ruby Fields, Spacey Jane, Pist Idiots and Sly Withers. They are poised for a wide-open road ahead of them and are excited to bring their genre bending styles of surf rock to the East coast of Australia for the first time.
