DICE up the ante with new single ‘Tequila Shotgun’

Over 4 million streams across 9 songs; 250k monthly listeners on Spotify; a debut EP and National tour under their belt – there’s no gamble if you’re betting on DICE.

For the Perth based 4-piece their 2022 has been defined by massive break-out-success and racing through career milestones at a break-neck speed. Following up a massive first half of the year which saw them release their debut EP ‘Adolescent Arcade’ they then embarked on their inaugural national tour and then again in support of rockers Great Gable.

With every release their sound gets more refined and they continually sweep the table of editorial playlisting across Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and TikTok. Community radio nationwide has rallied the young band with rotation adds, feature artists, airplay and interviews across tastemakers triple j, Unearthed, 4ZZZ, RTR FM, SYN, 2SER, 97.9 to name just a few.

With this latest release, DICE seals their signature sound with a comfortable refinement. The single showcases a band that is constantly maturing and knows how to craft well considered arena-ready rock.

“Tequila Shotgun holds a much more personal and heartwarming meaning behind it to us than our previous tracks. We have dedicated the track in honour of our friend Charlie who lives his life to the fullest every day and we wanted to capture his attitude towards life and philosophies and how we strive for that in our own lives. As we continue to hone in on our sound, we have tapped into a new sound that we love.” DICE

A hallmark of a great DICE track is their effortless ability to capture the camaraderie of youth through thoughtful, exuberant rock. This song features frontman Ben lean into the buttery timbre of his vocals, traversing the lyrics with soaring and robust refinement. Under this, signature airy guitars swell and coalesce in between power-packed drums, the two working together to build into a cathartic release, closing out yet another main-stage festival ready tune.

Known for delivering a killer live set, their utterly loveable and faultless Aussie indie-rock has been carving out a dedicated fan base across the nation with many finding their easy, forward-thinking rock gems a fast favourite.

Recorded on their inaugural east coast tour, the team branched out from beyond their usual tried and true set-up in Perth for a rare opportunity to expand their musicianship to work with esteemed engineer Jack Nigro (DMA’s, Skegss, Julia Jacklin, Middle Kids).

“Whilst on tour in Sydney we had the privilege of heading up the coast and recording with Jack Nigro at The Grove Studios where we experimented with several more guitar layers than our previous tracks and live tracked drums for the first time which we felt really shows in the final product!”DICE

The track was then polished into the refined gem by long-time collaborator and label masthead Sam Ford of Tone City Recording (Siobhan Cotchin, Supathick, Madoc Plane).

Accompanying this release are two launch shows on their home turf of Perth. Speaking of their special lineup they say, “We’re heading back to our favourite Perth venue, Indi Bar, one year on from our last sold out headline show there. The Loose Brick boys supported all of our headline shows on our first national tour back in May and we saw it fit only to show them what the other side of Australia is like! ”DICE
