Neav shares her latest immersive track ‘Built The Same’

Operating with a songwriting maturity well above her 18 years, Central Coast artist NEAV (aka Niamh Watson) unveils her ever-expanding sound with her latest offering ‘Built The Same’. It’s the follow up to her singles ‘Talking To The Devil’ and ‘Silence Song’ which both garnered praise across Triple j, FBi, Rolling Stone, Life Without Andy, The Music and GC Live to name a few.

‘Built The Same’ has allowed NEAV to delve further into emotive songwriting by exploring new themes and sounds. “I have always wondered how and why certain individuals act or think the way they do. Sometimes people’s actions or reactions are so alien to me. This was the main concept we started with when David Turley and I began to write the song. We began to form this idea that everyone is physically built in unique ways, and some of us just don’t understand each other. In this way, we ultimately harm ourselves and others when we can’t coexist.”

‘Built The Same’ was written, recorded and produced collaboratively online with David Turley (Sinclair, The Aston Shuffle), with mixing and mastering by Tristan Barton (Greta Stanley).

“David Turley and I have never actually met in person but we clicked immediately via zoom and wrote the song in an hour and a half. After this, we went back and forth producing the track, recording my vocals in my home studio. We decided to reach out to Tristan Barton to see if he could add a bit more edge to the production and he ended up mixing and mastering what is now the final song.”
