With just weeks to go until the release of their sophomore album Sanctuary, Thunder Fox have announced the final piece of the puzzle, with new track ‘Head In The Clouds’.
Falling into line with the band’s previous releases ‘Not For Sale’ and ‘Love You 2’, Thunder Fox’s latest is another example of the band’s matured musicianship and a renewed dedication to some striking sonic influences.
To date, Thunder Fox have been known and respected for their blend of pop, funk and R&B notes and with ‘Head In The Clouds’, the band points ahead to some of their most cohesive and exciting material to date.
As the album’s opener, ‘Head In The Clouds’ sets the tone for the rest of Sanctuary. It’s a total vibe and welcomes longtime Thunder Fox fans back into the fold and for newcomers, it’s a great way to kick things off.
Experimental rhythms meets funky vocals, while the bombastic gospel choir vibe in the opening of the track lets audiences know that they’re in for a helluva ride.
“If Thunder Fox is known for anything, it’s being able to avoid taking things too seriously. ‘Head in the Clouds’ came to me in a blue dream on one of those hot nights where your brain feels sticky. I think the lyrics are self-explanatory so, I won’t provide an in depth analysis. The point is, we wanted to open the album with some fun and familiarity before shit got real.”
