Saiyon dishes up fierce future-soul track ‘Kerosene’

Blending electronic production with alternative R&B instrumentation, Melbourne’s SAIYON unveils her new single and video ‘Kerosene’. It’s a silky blend of R&B with synth beats and is written from the perspective of a confident young woman feeling empowered about expressing her feelings.

Says SAIYON of her new single, ‘Kerosene’ “is about getting to that point where you can’t avoid confrontation any longer. It is the most empowering feeling, when you finally stand up for yourself. We wanted to create imagery of this powerful storm that has been silently brewing, referencing fire and wind to symbolise this unstoppable force of nature.”

Vibe heavy in the same lane as the likes of Nao, Kehlani and KAYTRANADA‘Kerosene’ was recorded at Tender Trap Studio’s Melbourne with Grant Windsor (Gregory Porter, Guy Sebastian, Clare Teal) and mastered by Frank Arkwright from Abbey Road Studios London (Coldplay, Elton John, The Killers).

Working on the visuals with YBY Creative through BANTA AgencySAIYON shot the music video for ‘Kerosene’ in Adelaide with the song’s powerful narrative and fierce energy firmly in mind.

They have really amazing directors on their catalogue and have worked with some great artists. I was so excited to work with Directing Duo Hiball. Both Stanton and Alex are incredible at what they do and I loved the concept that they brought to the video.
