Alt-rock/punk 4 piece Lucid Hoops return in 2021 after releasing Triple j favourite ‘Get Me Out Of Here’ and singles ‘Glass’ and ‘Night Time’ in 2020.
Teaming up with producer Jack Donehue at Nauti Studios in Sydney, ‘Kinder Company’ showcases the band’s distinct blend of alt-rock and grunge vibes reminiscent of their musical influences, Paramore, Hole and Garbage.
“The recording process was just as much of a blast as writing the song. We explored some fun and unconventional ways of capturing the track sonically while staying true to what we have already established. Our producer Jack Donehue understood the chaos of the song and took our countless and sometimes outlandish ideas and ran with them.”

‘Kinder Company’ demonstrates the band’s strong dynamic and a love of 90’s rock with frantic, but confident lyrics.
“Kinder Company is rooted in frustration with a toxic person who is causing havoc in your life. The song is a rant to a loved one or your imagination having that fake argument in your head with this awful person. There’s an element of goofiness and positivity to the song; the decisiveness and optimistic outlook in the chorus lyrics escalate to the pent up emotions and frustration released in that climactic scream in the bridge.”
Known for their frenetic energy on stage with wrecking ball momentum and in support of their new single ‘Kinder Company’, Lucid Hoops will be hitting the road throughout July and August.
