SEABASS share title track and video from forthcoming new EP, ‘Always Kidding’

Making their return for 2021, ready to shed the disappointing vibes of the year just gone, Adelaide’s SEABASS present their new single, ‘Always Kidding’

The title track from their debut EP, ‘Always Kidding’ marks a fresh chapter for the band, as they take time with this single to get nostalgic with their lyricism and offer listeners a more laid back and settled-in side of their musicianship.

Where their 2020 single ‘Burn’ was a track delivered with urgency and its own brand of fire driving it, ‘Always Kidding’ sits in a space of reminiscing, written a number of years ago during a statewide blackout.

The music video for ‘Always Kidding’ saw SEABASS link up with noted photographer and visual creative Morgan Sette, following the band through multiple locations across Adelaide’s inner north and the Port Adelaide district.

“Morgan did an amazing job of seamlessly transforming what began as a dodgy phone video into something slick and personal. She’s created a more wholesome glimpse of what it’s like to be in a band with your friends when you spend a lot of time hanging out (but we’re much less active in real life)!”

The multiple South Australian Music Award nominees and winners of APRA AMCOS’ Emily Burrows Award for 2020 have been consistently developing and growing their musical identity in their short time together.

Born out of an opportunity to support Pussy Riot at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival, the band members have been quick to capitalise on the momentum building behind fired up live shows, bringing it all together in studio.

The results are set to be seen on their debut EP Always Kidding this February, a seamless blend of pop and indie rock sensibilities.
