Returning with a sound that is primed for a long summer in the club and on the festival circuit, Perth’s Monsoon Moon (aka Shaun Pickett) dishes up a slice of bright indie-electronica in ‘Can’t Let Go’.
A fitting follow up to his debut single, ‘Just Friends’ earlier this year, the latest from the producer and songwriter demonstrates natural progression within the studio and a confident, thriving delivery.
Featuring vocals from Annika Moses, ‘Can’t Let Go’ came together at Perth’s Digital Bath Studios, with Pickett mixing and mastering the track himself. What has been quite the process for Monsoon has turned into a brilliantly realised final result.
“We are only into our second song, so it’s taken some weaning to figure out our process as a team and each others strengths. I think we’re really onto something. It took me 3 years to finish this song and countless edits. Now I get to enjoy it’s release.” Monsoon Moon

Of course for Shaun, his skill set and experience in the music industry extends far beyond the Monsoon Moon project. As Command Q, Shaun garnered and embraced global attention alongside fellow DJ Louis Frere-Harvey. Emerging into the solo spotlight as Monsoon Moon, Pickett flexes new creative muscles; going from darker, lusty electronic textures to the bright and airy ones ‘Can’t Let Go’ bounces through, Monsoon Moon shows versatility.
Anticipating a busy 2020, Monsoon Moon’s identity continues to shine on record with ‘Can’t Let It Go’, reflecting the exciting nature of Australia’s current indie-electronica scene. The tides of change are in the works and with a new decade now upon us, Monsoon Moon is primed to take it on with new music and invigorating live shows.
