Having enjoyed one of his busiest years to date in 2024, Australian artist and performer SAM FISCHER has made an impactful return for 2025 with the release of ‘LOVELIFE’.
As his first release for the year, Fischer starts off strong, serving a prime reminder of his natural talents as an artist but excitingly, offering fans new and longtime alike, a hint of the potential still to be tapped as 2025 rolls out.
For Fischer, who now splits his time between bases in Los Angeles and London, ‘LOVELIFE’’ came together across sessions in the UK, before being mixed by Eduardo De La Paz (Nell Mescal, Self Esteem) and mastered by Sam Wills (Hanna Wants, Elderbrook).
Of the track, Fischer explains, “I think I’m just guilty as hell of looking for external validation, whether that’s from social media or my personal or romantic life. So I wrote ‘LOVELIFE’ about needing to shift that perspective to looking inward for who should be the primary source of my joy and fulfilment… and at the end of the day, the obvious discovery is that it’s always got to be my own self first, as hard as that may be a lot of the time.”
Fischer’s profile as a globally renowned artist engaged a higher level with the release of his debut album, I Love You, Please Don’t Hate Me. An album with over 895.5 million streams on Spotify alone, the impact of such an album was directly tied to Fischer’s instant relatability as an artist, and the resonance of his music.
Collaborations with artists as varied as Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainer and Amy Shark brought Fischer’s style and sound to broader audiences, while his natural storytelling abilities only strengthened from there.
In 2024, Fischer’s collaboration with Guy Sebastian – ‘Antidote’ – brought him more success and notoriety, and brought him home for a limited run of East Coast shows that saw fans clamouring for tickets to see this world-class performer in his element.
Winding the clock back further, Fischer’s debut track ‘This City’ proved a powerful introduction. A mainstay of the UK Top 20 charts for 11 weeks, the track has accrued over 750 million worldwide streams, and earned Fischer double-platinum status in Australia, triple-platinum status in the UK and New Zealand, gold in North America and Switzerland.
Now, with over 2 billion streams to his name, Fischer is planning on only going higher – ‘LOVELIFE’ is the first step in this new arc. In May, Fischer will return to Australia, supporting American singer-songwriter and musician, Brett Young.
