One of One’s epic tenth anniversary tour off to a beautiful start with debut Perth event

Coinciding with International Women’s Day, the first event of the One Of One tenth anniversary tour has enjoyed great success. The organisation’s debut outing on the West Coast went down on Friday 7 March at The Rechabite in Perth, drawing a crowd who all shared in the spirit of empowerment and community.

Keynote speaker Kelsie Miller, accomplished artist manager and promoter (Across The Road Music), imparted key lessons and knowledge gained from her extensive experiences on the road and behind the scenes, with the attendees who hung off each word.

“I stuck to my beliefs, I maintained my boundaries and the world adapted, it didn’t end. These days I have a new vision. A vision for a music industry that isn’t driven by hustle culture. Where burnout isn’t secretly applauded. Where we don’t shower praise on or feel intimidated by people who tell us they are online 18 hours a day. An industry where we don’t feel obligated to follow outdated methods and broken systems that have led us to this point of collapse. Where we are brave enough to be unique and weird and to do things differently to how we’ve always been told they should be done.”  KELSIE MILLER, ONE OF ONE KEYNOTE

Performers at the Perth One Of One breakfast included Drea and Sunny Flowers, both of which demonstrated the poignant and striking musical talent being born out on the West Coast.

From here, the One Of One tenth anniversary celebrations continue around Australia throughout March. Due to the effects of Cyclone Alfred, One of One have announced that the Brisbane event has been rescheduled from this week, now set for Wednesday April 16th, but still taking place at The Triffid.

The tour will now be heading to Darwin next, then back down the East Coast to Sydney and Melbourne, then over to Adelaide before eventually wrapping up at its final stop in Brisbane.

“The One of One event is a key date in our team calendar – a unique opportunity to recognise the women and GNC staff across our many companies as we come together to reflect on the progress our industry has made and the work still ahead.”
Jaddan Comerford, UNIFIED Music Group

“The team manages to create an instantly safe and inclusive environment, where attendees can be inspired and connect with like-minded colleagues. The future of the music industry is female, and this event provides the opportunity for women to be seen, and to feel empowered to take the next steps in their career.”
