Loser return with blistering new single ‘Dancing On Your Grave’

Punk rock heavyweights LOSER have reemerged with their latest riff-heavy single ‘Dancing On Your Grave’, out today.

On the Melbourne trio’s second single for 2024 following the release of ‘New Heights’ earlier this year, LOSER fire on all guns blazing with ‘Dancing On Your Grave’; with riffs-a-plenty and a huge belting chorus, ‘Dancing On Your Grave’ doesn’t leave anything left out on the field - building constantly until the song explodes in a thrash-y breakdown that will surely become a key moment in the bands live set for years to come.

The high-energy, emotion-fuelled performance here is the perfect setting for the track's themes - Lyrically describing the feeling of letting go after the breakdown of a toxic relationship.

"Every now and then you meet an empty person. They take advantage of you, whether it be cheating on you, lying to you - or both - and all it does is reflect back how terrible they are, not you. This song is about letting go of toxic people, and celebrating their inevitable demise."

Mixed and mastered by the bands front man Tim Maxwell (who has also worked with Fangz, Molly Rocket and TOWNS in the past), Dancing On Your Grave is full to the brim with energy, with every element of the track hitting its absolute peak.

Describing their time in the studio during the recording process, the band explain that “This was one of the funnest songs to record. Something about the energy of the riff made it enjoyable and cathartic. Braiden’s drumming in the breakdown is absolutely nuts, it’s like he grows an extra pair of arms. You also can’t ever have too much cowbell.”

Dubbed a Melbourne punk 'supergroup' upon formation, LOSER started life in 2018 with members Tim Maxwell (ex Apart From This), Craig Selak (ex The Bennies) and Chris Cowburn (ex The Smith Street Band). Since then, LOSER have become a mainstay in the Australian music scene - receiving significant support and praise from every corner of the industry.

The band have shared stages with the likes of Violent Soho, PUP, Teenage Joans, Luca Brasi and more over the years, and have made festival appearances at Falls FestivalThe Hills Are Alive, BIGSOUND and Beer N Cider Festival. They currently hold 4m streams across DSPs with editorial playlist support from Spotify and Apple Music,  and have had 3 previous singles added to triple J rotation (‘Loser’‘On The Edge’ & ‘Skyward’)

Following the release of ‘Dancing On Your Grave’  the band have two shows currently planned; in Fitzroy at the Workers Club on the 26th of October, and the Barwon Club in Geelong on the 27th.
