Sydney’s LAHGO have consistently proven themselves as one of the local scene’s best new indie exports – throughout 2025, the duo has delivered strong release after strong release, all leading towards the reveal of a dynamic next step forward.
That step today reveals itself in the brand new LAHGO EP project, ‘No Love Lost, Right?, their third EP and the first since 2023’s Midnight Revelry brought the group to wider attention.
An unapologetic presentation of thoughts, memories and stories charting personal growth, identity and the reclamation of one’s own power, the new music from LAHGO marks a turning point for the musicians.
From it the band releases a new single, fittingly titled ‘The Wait Is Over’. The single is the first LAHGO release since dropping their track ‘Bitter’ in May.
Recorded at A Sharp Recording Studios with collaborator Matt Fiovoranti, ‘The Wait Is Over’ is another potent addition to LAHGO’s growing body of work. Says songwriter Mel Bailey, ‘The Wait Is Over’ stems from feelings of heartache, frustration and ultimately, clarity.
“‘The Wait Is Over’ is about reaching my breaking point with someone who only ever offered me cheap love. Love that looked good on the outside but had no real depth. I gave them so many chances, held out hope they’d change, but all they ever did was run from the hard stuff and dressed it up with superficiality. Writing this song was my way of saying: I see through the act now, I’m done waiting, and the wait is over.”
LAHGO, MEL BAILEY
Perfect for fans of artists including Wolf Alice and The Preatures, music like ‘The Wait Is Over’ is ideal for those moments where a listener wants to get lost in waves of emotion; perhaps even purge some emotions themselves.
As for where it sits within the wider body of work on the no love lost, right? EP, the new single from LAHGO is a timely vignette adding to a fleshed out portrait of a person being broken down, rebuilt and healed.
LAHGO’s debut in 2022 was a strong moment of arrival: their fusion of anthemic indie rock music, coupled with soulful and clever lyricism put them on radars early and has led to sold out shows in their hometown, as well as lucrative support slots for artists including Don West, The Terrys and more.
Their music has been gaining consistent momentum on community radio as well as triple j and Triple J Unearthed, while streaming numbers continue to climb courtesy of LAHGO’s fervent fanbase of over 41k monthly listeners and editorial support (Local Noise, The Local List and TURN UP AUS).
