Shorehaven release syrupy-sweet duet, ‘Milly's Car Ride'

Boorloo / Perth indie rock and pop band Shorehaven have just released their superb new single, ‘Milly’s Car Ride’, a heartfelt track speaking to the experience of love as a one-way street. “I think we’ve all been there,” expressed the band on the matter:

“Milly’s Car Ride is the bittersweet tale of unreciprocated love. Lyrically, it’s a heartbreakingly relatable track and when juxtaposed with these seemingly joyous melodies, driving guitar lines and high energy rhythm section, represents the emotional rollercoaster of being ‘lead on’ by someone you desire.” SHOREHAVEN

Vibrant and syrupy-sweet in sound, this new release from the band exhibits a gorgeous duet vocal performance, its evocative harmonies conveying so perfectly the bittersweet feeling of the song’s lyrics and mood.

Recorded at WA’s Tone City Recording with mixing and mastering by Sam Ford (DICE, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Pond, Birds of Tokyo), ‘Milly’s Car Ride’ underwent quite the piece-by-piece transformation before the band landed on the final and wonderful product we hear before us today.

“The first idea for Milly’s Car Ride actually came about before the band was even formed in early 2022. The track was initially an acoustic country song with a completely different structure and sound. Once the band was formed and we began writing our early material, this idea popped back up and through trial and experimentation was converted into this indie pop tune!”  SHOREHAVEN

In celebration of their latest release, Shorehaven will be hitting stages around their home state, bringing their dynamic, high-energy live show to a handful of venues through May and June.

“We will be bringing a whole new level of energy to this EP tour, with another hit all-ages headline at The Y HQ, our very first over 18 headline shows including Indian Ocean Hotel, our first regional headline show at The Prince Hotel in Bunbury. Fresh sets, fresh feeling, this tour is gonna be something to remember.”  SHOREHAVEN
