Having enjoyed a successful debut year in 2023, Sydney indie newcomers SUNSET AVENUE are back with a brand new hit of engaging surf-pop in their latest single, ‘DO YOU FEEL THE SAME?’. The new single from the three piece captures the essence of the Sunset Avenue sound: nostalgic, beachy and full of warmth in tone.
For the band, a song like ‘Do You Feel The Same?’ is a strong step forward, building upon the foundations their 2023 debut single, ‘CHANGE IT UP’, set so well.
Working with producer and engineer Fletcher Matthews (Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle, STUMPS) on ‘Do You Feel The Same?’ out of his studio in Sydney, Sunset Avenue channeled their natural chemistry and easy dynamic on to the record.
“The meaning of this track is about and captures the giddy joy of a relationship in its early stages, harnessing catchy pop-rock melodies and an anthemic chorus to deliver a powerful coming-of-age story. We wrote this song and its meaning as we thought it would relate to many people of all ages and genders as we all do or have once felt love in our lives.”

Alongside the release of ‘Do You Feel The Same?’, is the accompanying music video. It sees the band take inspiration from Coldplay’s iconic ‘Yellow’ video, with an Australian twist.
“After spending an entire day shooting an elaborate music video with a videographer Josh, Beau and I were so excited to see the final edited product. The excitement quickly turned into a mixture of embarrassment and disappointment as we pressed play on potentially the worst video we've ever seen in our lives. We didn't have a lot of time until release day and began frantically coming up with new ideas we could film quickly and without a proper camera. We took heavy inspiration from my favorite music video of all time, Yellow by Coldplay, when creating the idea for DYFTS's video. We thought it would be fun to put an aussie spin on the concept and what's more aussie than getting verbally abused by a drunkard”

Sunset Avenue have already been building a solid reputation for themselves as live performers, racking up notable shows supporting the likes of The Terrys, Adam Newling and UK group Sea Girls in the last 12 months, as well as building their own presence as headliners in the local Sydney scene.
With over 100,000 streams to their name on Spotify, as well as the support of community radio pushing their momentum into long-standing territory, Sunset Avenue are anticipating a fruitful year out for 2024.
